TIME SPENT BY CHILDREN ON PHYSICAL AND SEDENTARY ACTIVITIES

The Time Spent by Children on Physical and Sedentary Activities – China measure includes 9 items from the 2015 China Economic, Population, Nutrition, and Health Survey also referred to as the China Health and Nutrition Survey (CHNS). Items asked parents or guardians of children under age 6, or children over the age of 6, about the time spent on different types of sedentary (TV watching, video games, etc.) and physical activities (track, soccer, etc.) during the week. The CHNS is a multi-province survey aimed at understanding how social, economic, and governmental policies (e.g., family planning efforts) affect the health and nutrition of Chinese residents. Navigational aspects (i.e. skip-out patterns), and similar items asked of children over age 6 have not been included on this page but can be viewed on the original questionnaire here.
