Entitlement Attitudes Questionnaire (EAQ)

The Entitlement Attitudes Questionnaire (EAQ) is a 15-item measure designed to measure perceived deservingness across a variety of cultures, where the conceptualization of entitlements is subject to variability. Items are made up of three sub-scales: Active Entitlement, Passive Entitlement and Revenge Entitlement.

Active Entitlement

Passive Entitlement

7. Disadvantaged persons deserve institutional help
8. The state should take care of the livelihood of the poorest
9. The government has a duty to ensure decent living conditions for people
10. It is the duty of the state to care for all citizens
Revenge Entitlement
11. I have difficulty forgiving harm done to me
12. I don't forgive the wrongs I have suffered
13. Someone who hurts me cannot count on my sympathy
14. I remember harm that has been done to me for a long time
15. "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" is a fair rule
